County Board Re-Appointed Engineer and Got An Update on Taxes

(Robinson) — The Crawford County Board re-appointed the County Engineer and got an update from the County Treasurer regarding property taxes at last nights board meeting. Through several resolutions Crawford County Engineer Justin Childress was re-appointed as the county engineer for a new six year term. Childress thanked the board for allowing him to continue to serve the county.

In other business, Crawford County Treasurer Twyla Bailey said that the second installment of property taxes are due September 13th and if you decided to wait to pay both installments on that date there will be a 3% penalty charged. Also mobile home taxes are due in one installment September 6th. A penalty of $25.00 will be assessed on late payments. County Clerk Fayrene Wright reported to the board that petitions to be a candidate for the March 2018 primary can be picked up at her office beginning Tuesday, September 5th. Christopher DeWitt was appointed to the Crawford County Board of Review to fill the remainder of the term ending in May due to the resignation of board member Tom Titsworth.
