No Major Surprises in County Voting

(Undated) — The numbers are still being counted and finalized but the Primary Election is behind us. The race for the Republican nomination for Sheriff saw incumbent Bill Rutan win, with a final of two thousand and seventy six votes. Dave Marqua got six hundred and sixty one votes and Joe Snyder received three hundred and ninety five votes. Incumbent Fayrene Wright easily beat James Keller for the Republican nomination for Crawford County Clerk with two thousand two hundred and nine votes to eight hundred and ninety one votes for Keller. Voters in Palestine made it clear they do not support school consolidation casting six hundred and ninety four NO votes to one hundred ninety two YES votes. Voters in Hutsonville said YES to consolidation with three hundred and seventy two votes to one hundred sixty NO votes. Kevin Morrison beat Jeff Besing for the County Board seat in District 1, four hundred and forty six to two hundred ninety seven. You can find all of the election results at WTYEfm.com.
