Unit 4 Board Introduces New OPH Co-Op Coach

(Oblong) – The high school football season will be here before you know it and there are some big changes for a trio of county teams. The upcoming season will mark the first for the new Oblong, Palestine and Hutsonville Co-Op. During last nights Unit 4 Board meeting Superintendent Jeff Patchett introduced new head football coach Mark Ambrose. According to Ambrose the team has about fifty guys in the program right now. He also says that there are three simple pillars to his philosophy. Be physically, mentally and spiritually fit. Have good solid fundamentals and have fun. The three teams opted to co-op after struggling with dwindling numbers the last several seasons. OPH will kick off the 2018 season on August 24th in Oblong against Salt Fork. They will hold a “Meet the Team” event on August 17th.
