LTC Students Athletes Named Academic All-Americans

(Robinson) – Student athletes at LTC continue to be recognized for their academic excellence. According to Chris Forde, Coordinator of Marketing & Public Information at LTC, a quarter of the student-athletes at Lincoln Trail College were honored as Academic All-Americans by the NJCAA. Athletic Director Kevin Bowers said awards like this are a testament to the focus and dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff. As a whole, student athletes at Lincoln Trail College combined for a 3.21 GPA in the 2017-18 academic year. LTC players have combined to have a GPA of at least 3.0 in nine consecutive semesters.

Baseball players Brady Bowling, Thomas Cessna, John Hendrix, Nathan Thomas, and Tanner Robins earned Second Team Academic All-American Honors. They were joined by softball players Kassandra Bell, Tessa Laino, McKenzie Pirtle, and Kylie Terrel and golfer Dale Murray. To earn the honor, the players had to achieve a GPA of 3.80-3.99.

Third Team awards went to baseball players Bryson Bloomer, Jacob Craig, Tucker Greer, Joseph Ivey, Justin Lewis-Snow, Brennen Martin, Grant Oexmann, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Conor Steinbaugh; volleyball players Mia McCoskey, Emily Penfold, and Haley Towle; softball players Trinity Anders and Alyssa Garo, and women’s basketball players Mykiah Jones and Madison Moore. The NJCAA awards Third Team Academic All-American honors to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.60-3.79.
