Indiana Man Arrested On Laundry List of Charges

(Sullivan, IN) – Sullivan County authorities quickly arrested a robbery suspect following a hit and run accident early yesterday morning. According to Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom, twenty seven year old Dorian Hart of Gary, Indiana was arrested following a hit and run and short foot pursuit. Reports indicate that Hart had broken into Sullivan Auto Group and stole a 2019 Dodge Ram as well as cash from a donation box that served as a collection point for the “Brown Bagger’s” lunch program, and “Christmas for Kids.” After leaving the dealership in the stolen truck Hart apparently hit a parked car and led police on a short chase before bailing out of the truck and continuing on foot before being quickly apprehended. Cottom says the evidence against Hart includes clear surveillance video as well as finger prints and DNA. Hart was secured in the Sullivan County Jail charged with Burglary, Auto Theft, Theft, two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Crash, Resisting Law Enforcement, Operating a Vehicle While under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, and seven counts of Criminal Mischief.
