(Robinson, IL)  –  June was a very wet month in Robinson. We recorded 8-point-21 inches of rain at WTYE, which is the official reading for Robinson for the National Weather Service. It was the wettest month of the year. Through June, we had 33-point-36 inches of rain. It’s a drastic departure from a year ago when drought gripped the area. A year ago, only 32-hundreths of an inch of rain fell in June and we had 12-point-61 inches of rain in the first six months of the year. This June was the wettest month we’ve had since April of 2011 when we received 13-point-18 inches of rain. The average high last month was 83 degrees, up seven from May but down five from a year ago. The average low was 63, up eight from May and up three from a year ago. There were five days of 90 or more in June with the highest temperature being 94. Last June, there were 14 days of 90 or above and the hottest day got up to 104.
