Jasper County Accident Sends Three to Hospital

(Newton) — A early morning accident yesterday in Jasper County has landed three people in the hospital. According to the Illinois State Police a vehicle driven by thirty six year old Keri Wittgan of Willow Hill was headed east on County Road 1400 N two miles west of Hunt City when she ran off the road, returned to the road over corrected and went back off the left side of the road. Her vehicle then overturned several time before coming to rest on upside down. Wittgan and her two passengers, Brieanna Jons of Olney and Eugene Birch of Newton were all injured. Wittgan and Jones were taken to Carle Hospital in Champaign and Birch was taken to CMH for treatment of their injuries. Wittgan was charged with DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt and No Valid Insurance.
