(Effingham) — As we approach the Christmas and New Years Holiday travel seasons you are reminded to buckle up. the Illinois State Police in Effingham have announced increased enforcement and special patrol plans for the WTYE listening area. In Clark, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper and Marion counties they will be focusing on occupant restraint. These patrols allow the state police to focus on safety belt and child safety seat laws. Illinois law requires all vehicle passengers be buckled up.
