Gas Prices are Trending Up

(Undated) — If you’ve filled the tank on you vehicle recently you know gas prices have seen an increase over the last couple of weeks. The first week of January has seen an increase in the statewide price for a gallon of regular unleaded of just two cents to 2.53 a gallon. However, according to Gasbuddy.com prices countywide have seen an almost twenty cent increase from last months average to 2.46 a gallon. While that is a sizable increase it is still cheaper than gas in some of our surrounding counties. In Jasper County they are paying an average of 2.62 a gallon. In Clark County it’s 2.59 a gallon and Cumberland County is paying 2.62 a gallon. Lawrence County is enjoying lower prices with an average of 2.43 a gallon.
