(Undated) — If you or someone you know is battling the flu you are not alone. A lot of people throughout the state are sick with the flu, so many that state health managers are wondering if flu season is peaking early. According to Illinois Department of Public Health spokeswoman Melaney Arnold there is a chance that the worst of the flu is hitting now, the flu season usually peaks in February. Locally the flu has become such an issue that last week Crawford Memorial Hospital implemented their influenza restrictions, limiting who can visit patients at the hospital. The restrictions were put in place to help protect the patients, staff and the community from the spread of the flu.
