Winter Weather Shuts Down Schools

(Robinson) — Thanks to Mother Nature and the latest blast of winter weather school throughout the county has been cancelled for today, but have you ever wondered what goes into making that decision. According to Robinson Unit 2 Superintendent Josh Quick there are a number of factors.

The National Weather Service says that the weather is not going to improve through the day. They are calling for much colder temperatures as well as Snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain this morning, then scattered flurries in the afternoon. Snow accumulation around 1 inch. Little or no ice accumulation. Highs in the upper 20s. Stay tuned to WTYE for the latest cancellation and closing information. You can also find a complete list of cancellations HERE.
