Help Make Sure Kids Can Eat This Summer

(Undated) — We are just a couple weeks into February but May will soon be here and the kids will be out of school and many will no longer have access to regular meals. Crawford County is one of twenty seven counties in Illinois that does not have any Summer Food Service Program serving sites. According to the Illinois State Board of Education for every 100 children nationally who received meals through the National School Lunch Programs in the 2015-16 school year, only fifteen received meals over the following summer. The SFSP provides nutritious meals to children and teens, age 18 and younger, during the summer months when school is not in session.
