(Palestine) — Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing is asking for your help in solving a weekend mystery. According to Besing at around 11:30 Saturday night he spotted a white Chevrolet van belonging to the Palestine School District traveling north on Washington Street. When Chief Besing attempted to initiate a stop the van fled. Following an investigation Chief Besing was able to confirm that no one had authorized use of the vehicle at that time. Officers with both the Robinson Police Department and Crawford County Sheriffs office confirmed seeing the van in the Robinson area earlier in the day. Sunday morning Chief Besing located the vehicle parked back at the Palestine High School with the doors opened and keys left in the vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle. Chief Besing is asking if anyone has knowledge of this incident or who might be responsible, please contact the Crimestopper Hotline at 888–596-7867.
