(Undated) – With a forecast that includes temperatures in the 90’s and afternoon heat indexes reaching above the century mark parents are reminded to never leave a child in the car and keep your car locked so kids can’t gain access. According to the National Safety Council ten minutes is how long it takes for the temperature inside a vehicle to rise 20 degrees. For children in particular, this increase is enough to result in death. On average, 37 children die each year due to pediatric vehicular heatstroke. Forty two children died during 2017, alone. Here are some tips to help keep kids safe.
