Red Cross Needs Your Help

(Undated) — The American Red Cross is encouraging donors to step forward amid the summer slump. Officials say their supply is down following the Fourth of July holiday because there were fewer blood drives, resulting in fewer donations. Colin Williams with the American Red Cross says donations typically drop by about 20-percent every summer. While about 38 percent of the population is eligible to give blood, less than 10 percent of those eligible actually do. Your next chance to donate is a week from today at LTC. The Red Cross will be set up at Lincoln Trail on the 25th from 9-1pm. The donation process takes about any hour and up to three lives can be saved from a single donation. The Red Crosses “Rapid Pass” can speed up the donation process by allowing you to complete the needed paperwork online ahead of time.
