(Oblong) – Authorities in Oblong are currently investigating a body found in the Oblong Park. According to Crawford County Coroner, Earl Deckard, the body of an unidentified individual was discovered in the park around 1:40 this morning. No further details are being released at this time pending notification of the family. There is an autopsy scheduled for later today. The Oblong Police Department, Crawford County Sheriffs Office, Illinois State Police, and the Crawford County Coroner’s Office are handling the investigation. Authorities do not suspect foul play. We will have more details when they become available.
