(Robinson) – A walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th helped the Statesmen pick up a 9-8 win over Southwestern yesterday. The game was tied at eight when Gavin McGaughey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring the run. Dalton Laney was credited with the win for LTC. He went two innings, allowing one run on two hits and walking one. Brady Bowling and Jack Hendrix entered the game out of the bullpen to help close out the game in relief. With the win LTC moves one game above .500. Southwestern will have a couple of chances for revenge as LTC hits the road for a Saturday double-header in Belleville.
