(Undated) – Many people across the state are expressing concern over recent firearm laws proposed in the Illinois General Assembly. According to Crawford County State’s Attorney, Matthew Hartrich, he has been contacted by a number of concerned citizens regarding some of these new firearm laws. Specifically, he has been asked about “SB107,” which effectively bans many firearms that are in common use at this time for legitimate purposes by otherwise law-abiding citizens and requires their registration with the Illinois State Police. Hartrich assures those concerned that he will not prosecute any otherwise law-abiding individual for violation of this proposed legislation unless said individual is committing some other criminal offense.
