(Undated) – The Crawford County Board took the first steps in figuring out their approach to the legalization of recreational cannabis, during last night’s meeting. Board Chairman, David Fulling, opened the meeting up to discussion. Among the topics covered where the moral impact of the counties support and the possible revenue impact to the county. It was reiterated that as this has been made legal at a state level, the county cannot outlaw the possession and use of cannabis, only the placement of dispensaries within the county. Last night’s discussion was just the first of many that will be had over the remainder of the year leading up to January 1st, 2020, when recreational cannabis becomes legal in Illinois.
