Robinson Man Facing DUI Charges Following Accident

(Undated) – A Robinson man is facing charges following an early morning accident near St. Marie. According to the Illinois State Police, twenty-four-year-old Payton Stifle was traveling Eastbound on East 400th Ave at a high rate of speed, around 2:20 am, when he struck a steep slope in the roadway, skidding out of control, and running off the road to the left. The vehicle then overturned several times coming to rest in the tree line, facing Westbound on its driver’s side. Both Stifle and his passenger twenty-two-year-old Blake Bell of Oblong were taken to Carle Richland Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Stifle was charged with DUI and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
