(Oblong) – The Oblong Village Board of Trustees held their regular February meeting last night. This was to be a meeting where they would open sealed bids for the property at 313 N. Wilson. However, no bids were received. The board chose to put the property up for bid again with no minimum and will open those bids at the March 4th meeting, provided any are received. The “Face in the Hole” project is receiving very positive feedback as residents have many ideas, such as having them at community events like the “Hootenany” and “Fall Follies.” Oblong Police Chief Chad Pusey reported that he will be conducting interviews with qualified candidates for the part-time police officer position. The village is once again reminding residents to not have appliances sitting outside. They are a safety concern and you can receive a ticket for doing so.
