(Undated) – The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department recently unveiled a “new” piece of equipment. The 1986 Humvee is a former military vehicle, converted for urban use. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, the all-terrain vehicle was acquired through the federal Law Enforcement Support Office program. The department pays a $400 annual fee to belong to LESO. The Humvee itself was free. This is the same program that allowed the Sheriff’s Department to acquire the amphibious vehicle last year.
