(Undated) – Residents statewide struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic won’t have to worry about their power being shut off. The Illinois Commerce Commission announced last week a no disconnect order for utilities across the state. According to Ameren Illinois spokesman, Brian Bretsch, the order reinforced the policy already in place by Ameren.
He says you will still be able to call in case of gas leaks or power outages, as they have been deemed first responders during the crisis.
