CDC Says Cleaning Will be Key to Return to Schools

(Undated) – For students, it is summer vacation and a chance to relax. For school officials, it is time to try to figure out how to safely hold classes next year. The Centers for Disease Control have released new guidelines for schools to reopen for the next school year. The CDC says cleaning will be key. Door knobs, flat surfaces, and high traffic areas need to be properly sanitized and schools also need proper ventilation. The agency also recommends kids sit one-per-row on the school bus. The CDC is careful to clarify these are guidelines and not mandates. Schools across the country have been closed since March because of the coronavirus pandemic. Leaving many students to finish their school year online.
