(Undated) – Gas prices nationwide continue to climb as more states “re-open” following the COVID-19 pandemic. According to GasBuddy.com, for the eighth straight week, the national average price of gasoline has risen, posting an increase of 1.5 cents per gallon over the last week to $2.15. Head of Petroleum Analysis for GasBuddy, Patrick DeHann, says the average price of diesel increased by 0.4 cents to $2.42 per gallon over the same period. DeHann says gasoline demand has continued to recover over the last week, with a 3% rise in demand and that continues to push gasoline prices higher. In turn the resurgence in gasoline demand is also pushing oil prices to their highest level in months. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $2.37 a gallon and in Indiana, it is $2.09 a gallon.
