Statewide Corn Crop Looks Good

(Undated) – The corn crop statewide is looking strong according to recent numbers from the USDA Illinois Crop Progress and Condition Report. Corn condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 55 percent good, and 12 percent excellent. Soybeans emerged reached 96 percent compared to the previous year at 75 percent and the 5-year average of 91 percent. Soybean condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 56 percent good, and 12 percent excellent. Winter wheat harvested was at 63 percent compared to the previous year at 38 percent and the 5-year average of 63 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 17 percent excellent.
