(Undated) – Could “flipping seasons” be an option for Illinois schools? Some states across the nation are looking at doing just that, where football would be moved to the spring due to ongoing concerns from the coronavirus pandemic. However, IHSA’s Craig Anderson, says that while every option is being looked at, flip-flopping seasons would be very difficult for schools and athletes.
Anderson says that modified seasons across the board might be an option.
Currently, the first day of high school football practice in Illinois is set for Aug 10th. Tentatively the RHS Maroons are set to kick-off the season Saturday August 29th with a road game at Charleston. OPH is set to begin the season on August 28th in Palestine against Georgetown.
