Fire Crews Save Dogs in Effingham House Fire

(Effingham, IL) — Crew members say two dogs have been rescued from an Effingham house fire. The blaze broke out yesterday morning. The residents were not home at the time of the fire, but firefighters were able to get two dogs in the home out safely. The cause was determined to be accidental after a stove burner had been left on and caught nearby items on fire, with flames spreading to upper cabinets and into the attic.
