(Undated) – One of the unfortunate side effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been a rise in domestic violence. Public Safety and Domestic Violence Expert, Rania (Rah-Knee-Ah) Mankarious (Man-Carry-Us), says that not only is the rise in domestic violence cases troubling, the decline of services available to aid those victims of violence is also disturbing.
On Monday it was announced that seventeen-million-dollars in funds are being made available to combat domestic violence in Illinois. However, it is unclear when the money will be doled out and where the money may end up going.
