(Palestine) – The LaMotte Fire Protection District is going to be doing their “Toys for Tots” distribution a bit differently this year. This year gifts will have to be picked up “curbside”. According to Chief, Harry Purcell, they will follow all CDC guidelines with regards to the purchase, handling, packaging, and curbside delivery of gifts. Toys will be bagged separately for each child and not gift wrapped. Captain, Jay Wilson, says that all gifts will have sat in isolation for three or more days and will not be handled after they are bagged. Curbside distribution of gifts will be held from 8 am-noon on December 19th. Anyone unable to pick up then is asked to contact Captain Wilson or any department member to make arrangements for pickup. Applications must be returned to Pioneer City Meat Market, The Rocking Horse, McNair Hardware, or The Village Inn no later than December 10th.
