(Undated) – The Crawford County Health Department is joining the American Cancer Society and encouraging smokers to quit. Today is the “Great American Smokeout.” The third Thursday of November serves as a chance to promote taking the first step toward quitting smoking by going one day without a cigarette. Smoking causes an estimated four-hundred and eighty-thousand deaths each year, making it the single largest preventable cause of death in the world.
