Gas Prices Continue to Climb

(Undated) – The price at the pump continues to rebound and for the second straight week has pushed higher. The current national average is up around a nickel per gallon over the last week to $2.41. GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHann, says prices have jumped to yet another multi-month high as crude oil prices rise amidst perceived improvement in the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to pump prices up as demand shows renewed signs of recovery. Gas prices here in Illinois are hovering around $2.50 a gallon and in Indiana, it’s $2.35 a gallon. The states with the lowest average prices include Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma with an average price hovering around $2.06 a gallon. The highest-priced states are California at $3.33, Hawaii at $3.24, and Washington at $2.80.
