IHSA Issues Sports Schedule Guidance

(Undated) – The IHSA Board met yesterday and provided an updated sports schedule and some guidance for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. According to the IHSA’s current schedule, all sports, except football, will be required to hold practice on seven different days before holding a contest. Football must hold practice on ten separate days before the first contest. The shortened basketball season could begin as soon as next week. It must be completed by March 13th. Football is cleared to kick-off on March 19th and must be completed by April 24th. IHSA guidelines will require all student-athletes to participate in masks, with a handful of exceptions. Neither basketball nor football will have a state series. School Athletic Directors are working overtime as it is now up to the individual schools to figure out their schedules.
