(Undated) – Many organizations suffered last year as a result of COVID-19, including the Red Cross. April is “National Volunteer Month” and the American Red Cross is celebrating the blood, platelet, and plasma donors who help fulfill its lifesaving mission and urging healthy individuals to join them in giving. According to the Red Cross, nearly 2.6 million volunteer donors step up every year to ensure blood is on the shelves when patients need it. The Red Cross continues to urge healthy individuals, especially those with type O blood, to donate. Your next chance to donate is coming up Wednesday. The Red Cross will be set up at Oblong High School from 8:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Learn more at redcrossblood.org.
