(Undated) – Schools across the state continue to wrestle with the Governor’s mask mandate. IHSA Executive Director, Craig Anderson, says reusing to comply with the mandate could impact a school’s ability to be a part of the IHSA. However, before that would happen the Illinois State Board of Education would have to revoke a schools recognition.
Anderson says these rules have been on the IHSA books for decades. Illinois youth sports guidance allows student-athletes to compete without masks while outdoors but calls for masks during indoor sports.
