(Undated) – The list of Illinois schools on “probation” continues to grow. ISBE officials say thirty-four schools are on probation as of yesterday for not mandating indoor masking for students, faculty, and staff. Schools not requiring masks risk losing their state funding and recognition as well as their ability to compete in sports. The Oblong Unit 4 Schools were alerted to their “probation” statutes in a letter from the ISBE Tuesday. According to Superintendent, Jeff Patchett, he has scheduled a conference with the State Superintendent for further information. Following that conference Oblong Unit 4 is required to submit a “corrective” plan to the Regional Superintendent of Schools and the State Superintendent.
