(Undated) – The State of Illinois has reached an unfortunate COVID-19 milestone. The IDPH is reporting that COVID-19 deaths in Illinois have now passed twenty-five-thousand. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported nearly twenty-seven-hundred COVID-19-related deaths in the state over the weekend. Locally, following a recent update and more accurate accounting, the Crawford County Health Department is reporting forty-six deaths in the county related to the virus since the beginning of the pandemic. The IDPH reports, there are over one-point-six million Illinoisans who have tested positive for the virus.
