Red Hill School District Among Three Suing ISBE

court-2

(Red Hill) – Red Hill is among three Central Illinois schools districts that are suing to retain their state recognition. The Red Hill, Cowden-Herrick, and Beecher City school districts are suing the Illinois State Board of Education, saying the body doesn’t have the authority to strip their recognition as a way to enforce compliance with Governor, J.B. Pritzker’s, mask mandate. The state superintendent is also named in the suit. Beecher City and Cowden-Herrick remain on probation, while Red Hill has moved into compliance with the mandate. The Hutsonville School District recently filed a suit against the IHSA and IHSA Executive Director, Craig Anderson, on behalf of a Hutsonville Senior Volleyball player to allow her to participate in postseason play.
