Gas Prices Set New 2021 Record

(Undated) – The price at the pump continues to climb, up more than two cents a gallon as prices rise for the ninth day in a row. According to the latest numbers from GasBuddy.com, the current National Average is at $3.24 a gallon. That marks a four-cent jump since Tuesday and the highest price this year. It is also the highest price over at least the past five years. GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHann, says high crude oil prices, strong global demand, and continued COVID-19 concerns are keeping prices high. The current statewide average in Illinois is $3.41 a gallon. It’s $3.24 in Indiana.
