(Undated) – A pair of Illinois school districts have won a small victory in the fight against mask mandates. The Cowden-Herrick and Beecher City school districts have been temporarily restored to “regular status” after a court dispute with the ISBE. In a Thursday court appearance, a judge issued a temporary restraining order against the ISBE, forcing them to remove the two schools from its probation list. The districts sued the ISBE after being threatened with having their recognition revoked for not complying with Governor, J.B. Pritzker’s, school mask mandate. Red Hill was also part of the suit but had been restored to regular status in August after changing their masking policies. The Hutsonville School District was recently denied its request for a restraining order against the IHSA and its Executive Director, Craig Anderson.
