Accident Near Terre Haute Has Us 41 Closed for More Than Hour

(Terre Haute) – An early morning accident on US 41 near Terre Haute serves as a reminder “don’t veer for a deer.” According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, just before 3:00 am Indiana time this morning a semi-driver was trying to maneuver away from hitting a deer and crashed in the process flipping the rig over on its side. The driver of a Mercury was unable to avoid colliding with the overturned truck suffering non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment. A third driver clipped the back end of the trailer but avoided any injuries. Both directions of U.S. 41 were blocked for more than an hour. The accident remains under investigation.
