(Undated) – The national average price of gas is up nearly twenty cents a gallon from a month ago and $1.26 per gallon higher than a year ago. However, it appears the climb in prices is starting to run out of steam. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHaan, the jump in gas prices that started nearly a month ago is finally running out of steam for the time being, as oil prices have stabilized. DeHaan says California will likely continue to see near-record high gas prices due to refining issues there but that should not become the nationwide norm. The current national average for a gallon of gas is hovering around $3.40 a gallon. It’s $3.49 in Illinois and $3.32 in Indiana.
