Red Cross Needs Blood Donations

(Undated) – The Red Cross is experiencing the worst blood shortage in over a decade. According to the Red Cross, busy holiday schedules, breaks from school, and winter weather all contributed to a drop in blood and platelet donations. That combined with the ongoing challenges of COVID has caused the available blood supply to drop to historically low levels. There appear to be three blood drives on the schedule this month in the county. The first of which will be on the 14th at Hutsonville High School. The Red Cross will also be set up at the Robinson Community Center on the 19th and Palestine High School on the 26th. Visit redcrossblood.org to schedule your appointment and check out “RapidPass.”
