(Undated) – Payments made via mobile payment apps may need to be reported to the IRS. Services like Venmo, Paypal, and others will now be required to notify the IRS of commercial transactions that exceed six hundred dollars. The new rule went into effect last weekend and is part of the tax code revision in the American Rescue Plan Act. However, the rule only goes for payments for goods and services and does not apply to personal finances.
