(Undated) – Students that test positive for COVID-19 will be able to return to classes sooner. Illinois is reducing the recommended quarantine time for students and teachers from ten to five days. The change applies to all public and nonpublic schools that serve students in pre-K through 12th grade. The guidance says students and employees who test positive for COVID-19 must stay home for a minimum of five days and a maximum of ten days after the first day of symptoms regardless of vaccination status.
