COVID Cases Continue to Climb

(Undated) – The number of COVID cases continues to grow everywhere including Crawford County. According to the latest numbers released by the CDC, about nine people are now testing positive for coronavirus every second, as the nation topped five million cases just last week. The “Omicron” variant has exploded in less than two months. Rhode Island is now the most infected state, followed by New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. California is lower on the list but just set a pandemic record for the number of daily cases. Illinois is ranked 16th on the list for COVID infections. The Crawford County Health Department just confirmed another seventy-two cases of the virus in the county. The CDC currently lists just over thirteen hundred “active” cases in Crawford County.
