FDA and BBB Warn of COVID Testing Scams

scam-alert

(Undated) – As COVID cases surge, the FDA and Better Business Bureau remind the public to be on the lookout for fraud. They say since the arrival of the Omicron variant, the increase of testing for COVID-19 has become a concern. According to BBB Investigator, Don O’Brien, fake testing sites have started to pop up.

Other forms of fraud include, “robocalls” that direct individuals to a website that looks like a clinic or medical supply company offering COVID-19 tests. However, to receive a test, a credit card needs to be provided or a form with personal information needs to be completed. That, O’Brien says, should be an immediate red flag.
