(Sumner, IL) – A single-vehicle accident in Richland County early Saturday morning has claimed the life of a Sumner woman. According to the Illinois State Police, thirty-one-year-old Wendy Dunfee was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A preliminary investigation indicates, around 2 am Saturday Dunfee was traveling west on Elbow Road just west of Higgins Switch Road when she exited the roadway to the left and struck a tree. No other information has been released by the ISP.
