Week to Week Gas Price Up

(Undated) – For the first time in over a month, the week to week national average price for a gallon of gas has risen, climbing three cents from a week ago to $4.13 per gallon. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHaan, this was due to oil prices that had jumped the prior week. DeHaan says with the French election now behind us, there is a risk that the EU could pursue harsher sanctions on Russia’s energy, which could cause oil prices to rise once again. In addition, U.S. oil inventories continue to decline, putting additional pressure on prices. DeHaan says both are something motorists should keep an eye on. The statewide average in Illinois has remained unchanged from yesterday and is currently $4.41 a gallon. However, the price at the pump in Indiana has seen a nine-cent jump to $3.99 a gallon.
