Gas Prices Hit New Record High

(Undated) – The price at the pump has set a new record. The national average price for gas is up another four cents a gallon over yesterday to $4.56. The highest prices are out West where the statewide averages in Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada are all over five dollars a gallon. However, California still holds the record for the highest gas prices, now up to $6.05 a gallon. The least expensive gas is in Kansas where the statewide average is $4.02 a gallon. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is just shy of the five dollar a gallon mark at $4.93 a gallon. It’s $4.61 in Indiana.
